Panaji: Over the past few decades, the real estate sector in the state has soared. This was possible only through realtors’ innovative designs, state-of-the-art projects, and high benchmarks in quality and customer satisfaction. Ten pioneers selected from an elite group of leading realtors in the state have been featured in the The Times Group’s latest coffee table book ‘Real Estate Icons of Goa’.
The hard-bound book abounds with the icons’ success stories. Glossy pictures of their sprawling projects chronicle the transition in Goa’s real estate sector.
While releasing the book on Saturday, deputy chief minister Francis D’Souza described it as a “good concept” and a “huge achievement for The Times of India and for stakeholders in the industry”. It will make others in the trade look up to such forerunners, he added.
Director, sports and youth affairs, V M Prabhudesai, highlighted the need for additional and better sports facilities in housing complexes saying this would go a long way in promoting physical activity, in ensuring that the state produces more sports-persons. He was happy to see green spaces, gyms and walking tracks as part of housing projects in the book.
Ace swimmer Talasha Prabhu, the celebrity guest, endorsed this. Impressed with the book, she said it would be of interest to her, even though she isn’t too familiar with real estate industry.
MD of Vision Dempo Real Estate Developers Rajesh Dempo, and managing partners of EDCON Real Estate Developers Edwin Menezes and Cedric Vaz, were also present. Compere Ruchika Davar put everyone in a cheery mood.
